If you really want to get a handle on the Duane Allman/Derek Trucks Open E style of slide guitar, this package is invaluable. Dan does an amazing job of explaining not just how these licks work, but why these licks work. The licks themselves can be challenging to get under your fingers but it is extremely rewarding once you do. Dan's presentation of the material is well thought out and easy to understand. The solo examples and breakdowns are the icing on the cake. Highly recommended!!!

Slide has always been something I wanted to learn, up till now most lessons I've seen have just been non slide players teaching the few slide licks they know. Dan is a true maestro of slide guitar, and in this series gives an easy way of learning the more advanced slide sound, Derek Trucks/ Duane Allman. There is a huge amount of content, and it's so easily digestible. My favourite part about Dan's teaching is how he approaches the "in between" notes, this is probably the most advanced part about slide playing, micro tonal intonation - He clearly shows why too flat/too sharp isn't right. For this reason I think the course has massively improved my ear for slide! Can't recommend this enough, I can only hope there are future lessons.

I was looking online for classes on Slide Guitar for months and couldn't find anything until I got to this awesome Slide licks course. Dan is a very talented Slide Guitar player and takes the time to explain the intervals in each lick very well. 5 stars to this one, keep them coming!

This is a great compilation of open E slide licks that not only teach you cool things to play, but are put together in a way that what you learn in one lick is built on others that came before. If Derek Trucks and that melodic style of slide playing is what you are looking to learn, look no further. Dan is a good teacher and is doing something here that no one else is really doing in this format. I agree with the warning at the start of the course- this is not for the beginner. You should have the basics of slide technique down - intonation, muting, right and left hand fingering- and a working knowledge of the fretboard and interval theory. If you have those things at a decent level, then settle in and get ready to learn!

I have been trying to learn the 50 guitar licks for about a month. The licks are not difficult but to get the phrasing correct takes a bit of time. This is a really helpful course. Thanks Dan

By far the most inciteful, skillfully conveyed content on the internet when it comes to slide. Right and left hand techniques are accurately and effectively explained. Licks vary in difficulty dramatically while all still retain a vocal quality. I highly recommend this video if you want to take slide guitar seriously or even if you want to take a closer look.

This dude doesn't just teach you how to play guitar. He shows you how to sing, laugh, cry, and serenade your soul with a little glass bottle and some metal strings. Few people have got the gift, but this man has so much he's sharing some with us and I'm damned thankful. If you're reading this review, stop now and buy the damned video book. If not, then that's cool, I'll probably just get better than you, cause I've got this gem of a mini-course ;). Peace bishes.

A variety of approaches and styles..broken down into easy to follow phrases that make a much greater whole! Alot of ground covered regarding slide playing; from fundamentals of right hand muting etc through to nuances/subtleties of microtones around the minor/major 3rds etc. A comprehensive approach to starting slide guitar through to really musical approaches on slide guitar. Easy to follow especially if you have some slide skill before hand. The only thing missing is explanation of the chords he is playing, that would be very helpful
